What is International Baccalaureate?

International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum provides an interdisciplinary and challenging framework that is meant to help students make connections between their school curriculum and the real world. Students will focus on domestic and international issues within 8 subjects areas in the Middle Years Program.

IB Westward Expansion Unit

At the beginning of each IB unit students are sent home with a unit preview that informs parents of what is coming up in the new unit. The purpose of this document is to connect what is happening at home and what is happening in the classroom, to inform parents of what we are studying, and give due dates.
At the beginning of every unit, students are introduced to a new inquiry statement, key concept, related concepts, global context and understandings. They are given a summative assignment which is due at the end of the unit.
